The Goldsmith Family

Category: Children, Portraits

I LOVE these guys! I would be very proud of myself if I ended up as beautiful and glowing as Jenny and as caring as Andy when I am in the chapter of life they are now. This couple has been an inspiration to Brian and I through their genuine spirits and authenticity, and their children are ADORABLE!

I met this family about a year and a half ago when they asked me to take some family photos and since then we have gotten to know them further. Andy is actually Dr. Andy Goldsmith: Superhero Dentist…. who’s practice is one of the best in the state! So if you are looking for a family friendly dentist then look no more! :)

Anyway, we met up once again for some family pics a couple months ago. Jenny is a creative thinker as well!! She always has fun ideas to incorporate into the shoots to make sure they are unique and bold. Ideas like taking an antique cast iron bed out into a middle of a yellow field at sunset AND topping it off with cutesy matching PJs all around!!! Come on! That is awesome.

We had a blast and the kids were so so good!! Even though we had to repeat the phrase “Ice cream afterwards!!! Ice cream afterwards!!” about 20 times. Oh kids.

I hope you all enjoy these sunny summer snaps!! :)

Well, it is already August 11th. What the heck?!! Summer is almost over for us Coloradoans and I haven’t perfected my tan yet!!! BOO on that!!

Anyway I finished up a beautiful Shove Chapel/Tre Luna wedding and it turned out to be just as wonderful as I had hoped. Micah and Stephanie had an incredible bridal party line up! The guys kept me cracking up all day long.

Sooooo to sum it up Micah + Stephanie = fantastic time!!!!

Also, I may or may not have gone a bit overboard with the vintage-y filtering on these, buuuuut that has been my mood/obsession over the past few weeks.

So Enjoy! :)

Hoping for hurricanes… and 25 days to kickoff!!!

Category: Personal

Hmmmm, I hope I didn’t offend a Katrina survivor by this blog title. But I have never experienced a hurricane before. Some may say “you are lucky” some may say “you are missing out”… maybe its a bit of both. We were supposed to have a mini hurricane here in Lafayette, LA where Brian and I are visiting his family for a week. Brian’s dad was literally getting excited for me to experience one. “OHHHHH boy are you in for a ride!” he said with a slight cajun chuckle and hopeful grin. So with all the hype and uprising over hurricane Edouard (seriously spelled something like that) I was beginning to wonder what I was in for.

Well, after much waiting and hopeful looks to the sky I can honestly say the height of my experience included a few psychedelic cloud formations along with some wind that knocked at our bedroom window all night. Seriously, a bit disappointing! …..Maybe next time? Although I do pray that no one was harmed through this! My disappointment may turn out to be someone’s disaster a few states down.

Anyway, in the meantime we are enjoying some good southern home cooking, which is a big relief from my strict health crazed diet that I force Brian to abide by, and the kiddies are getting so big and SOOOOO much more adorable by the minute. I really am wanting to be a mommy!!! But Brian reminds me of our plans to wait a few years and I just silently look up to heaven and ask God “so what is all this talk about you screwing up everyones plans all the time?? You are SO welcome to come down here and bless us with an unplanned little one anytime you think is fitting!!!” :)

Brian and I are both super doooooper excited for college football season to begin. Coming from a home of football lovers I have grown up with football being a Sunday afternoon necessity! I remember when the Broncos were unstoppable!! We all were IN LOVE with John Elway and our dear team could do no wrong. Buuuut now, well… we have since been given reason to forget those “golden years” of sorts and paw around for a new team to be proud of. So, when I met Brian, I was immediately sucked into the LSU vortex… which quite possibly may be a new form of religion in Louisiana and if you don’t convert… well then you are basically volunteering yourself to be quarantined!!! So of course I am jumping full force onto the LSU bandwagon!!!!! And it has been a great ride! I’ve’ always wanted to get crazy out of control excited for something… now I have a reason! :)

25 days and counting…..

Katie + Steve Engagement

Category: Engagements

“Our love was comfortable, and so broken in…”

Ah yes a classic John Mayer oldie but goodie. That’s the song that reminded me of Katie and Steve. When I photographed them I noticed a great acceptance about them. They were so comfortable and content with one another. Mostly smiles the whole time… and they seemed so chill you would have thought they were on vacation!! Not nervous or tense at all!…. just comfortable with each other.

There is such beauty to that concept. Which is why I love that song and why I love meeting people who are the living version of it.

There is absolutely nothing as beautiful as a Colorado sunset over the mountains...

Heidi & Sean… a lovely love story from a friendly friend’s perspective… :)

Category: Engagements, Personal

It was a blizzardy cold December afternoon… my December 26th wedding day to be exact, and I was rushing around in a frenzy of wedding bliss as I was getting ready in the victorian-esque bridal room at the church surrounded by my dear, dear girlfriends and relatives.

One friend, in particular was fervently curling, straightening, pinning and using up 3 or 4 cans of hairspray onto about 4 different heads. She was appointed the hairdresser of the day by me to make sure all the bridesmaids (her being a bridesmaid herself) were perfectly put together. Little did she know that day was the beginning of something she had been dreaming of her whole life.

I met Heidi about 7 or 8 years ago (WOW) when we both attended youth group at Resurrection Fellowship Church in Loveland, CO. She was shy and from what I recall had long, frizzy blonde hair that seemed to do whatever it darn well pleased… but a beautiful joyous face that made up for it.  She was a powerful little prayer warrior and played guitar on our worship team. I don’t think I ever had a full length conversation with her the whole of our high school career because of course at that age it is just an absolute sin to venture outside your click!!! :)

Soon after graduation we discovered we would be attending the same school…. and living together with 7 other girls in Colorado Springs and thus began our gradual bond as dear friends. We have been lonely together, joyful together, helped each other through tough breakups together, cried together, prayed together, made good decisions and bad ones together, worked together, oh and of course, SHOPPED together… and we have been so fortunate to have shared a friendship such as this together!

On that December day as a bridesmaid Heidi must have been looking just as gorgeous as usual because someone spotted her secretly from across the reception hall. Not just anyone was spying, a suitable bachelor who just so happened to be a very close friend of the grooms was keeping a casual eye on the lovely blonde in the classy black bridesmaid dress. The distinguished bachelor kept his curiosity to himself and let the night go without a proper and official introduction of himself to this lovely girl that was dancing about and confidently making her rounds at the reception. Call it shy, call it unsure, call it disinterest, or… just call it good timing…

That following March, as newlyweds Brian and I took a trip to Austin, TX where he attended school with and developed a close bond with ” distinguished Bachelor #1″… Sean Mitchell. We went to visit old friends and Brian wanted to give me a taste of life “pre-Hannah”. So we met up with Sean over a delicious lunch of bacon cheeseburgers and fries at Shady Grove (if your an Austin native you will surely know this place).
Some how (depending on who you ask) our conversation turned into talking about my friend Heidi. Like I said, depending on who you ask, some may tell you I brought her up but I say SEAN brought her up… I guess we will never really know unless a time machine is invented in the near future… :)

But now almost two years down the road from that December day, it doesn’t matter who asked about who because here I am posting photos of their wonderful wedding engagement! Something obviously was ignited between these two! Brian and I are so thrilled to have our two worlds of the past combine! I thought stuff like this only happens in the movies!

But here we are, real life, real love, and real stories to tell!

Sean and Heidi we are honored to stand beside you on the day you two are combined into one.  We will never hesitate to take our place back at your side whenever you may need us…

We love you!
